Duties & Taxes
All items entering a foreign country are subject to customs inspection and the assessment of duties and taxes in accordance with that country's national laws. The buyer is responsible for all duties and taxes incurred. Lexington cannot determine these fees during the checkout process. For more information, please contact your local customs office. In the event that the buyer refuses delivery of the shipment, the buyer is responsible for payment of all return duties and taxes; in this case, return shipping charges will be billed to the buyer's method of payment.
Estimating Australian Customs and Duties
• Australian duties, taxes and brokerage fees on items shipped to Australia are established by Australian Customs
• Customs Duty is charged on the purchase price of the goods
• The standard rate of duty on clothing is 25%, but may vary
• The Goods and Services Tax ("GST ") is charged on the total of the purchase price plus the Customs Duty plus the freight and insurance paid or payable for transporting the goods
• The current GST is 10% and is subject to change
• There is no gift rate. There is a gift allowance of $200 is for unsolicited gifts of a non-recurring nature sent to an individual in Australia by an individual outside Australia
